SONS OF DOWN.
O County Down, how I oft have thought of thy stately homes and beauty. And of thy sons who are these have thought, And that's a Down man's duty.
For in France and Flanders fledge they lie—
Let us not forget their names—
And their sons now answer Britain's cry, And uphold our glorious fame.
For fame we have, and are proud to tell of our heroes long ago. And of those who are facing this African hell Against such a tyrant foe.
Of General Gillespie we are justly proud—
When deeds gained fame and reward from the human and real proud—
And uphold our glorious fame.
Brave Johnston, the hero of Ballykillbeg, For our freedom and liberty fought, And on the base of right to the orange flag. On the base of July as we guilt.
But silent, I am ard the drum and the flag. And furthest lie our banner and flag. May God and us soon, with our former still rife, Another Johnston of Ballykillbeg.

Protestant Pars for Protestant People.
Mr. M'Irath's disclosure of "Peaceful Penetration" is timely and also long overdue. The Jesuit Policy in the Free State with its new party in the Mr. Porter in it who states, as reported in the Press, just what Mr. M'Irath has revealed. This Free State President states:—"There should be a liberate national policy of buying land in the Six Counties, and this policy to be subterranean manner." This underhand and subtle method will be employed to buy out Ulster, using the Jesuits' slogan and policy: "The end justifies the means." They have tried weapon Devilish from "Give them the lead" O'Duffy down, but they always forget Providence who states, "The earth is the Lord's and the fulness thereof, and He will give it to any part of it to whom He pleases. It would have been better if the Church of Ireland had given their hundreds of thousands of pounds to poor Protestants to buy their farms and so "Keep Ulster Protestant" than giving it to the Free State Government, for those thousands of pounds are now a "dead horse."
Compton MacKenzie has written a book in which he states: "The Vatican trusts Roosevelt." So watch Roosevelt, he has an eye on the papist votes.
Was it accident or design that the cleric (whoever he is) who contributes "Pre-hyterian News" to Belfast Telegraph and News-Letter never made any reference to the death of the Rev. Dr. Hanna in the opponents following his burial? His clerical issues must have been staggered at the immense crowds which thronged the route on the day of his funeral, with scarcely a dry eye (men and women), the field is now open for these Modernist clerics to explain the miscales as they only can," etc., as given in German theology, which has blacked-out the world and will also black-out them at last.
$35,000,000 has been voted to assist what is termed war-voted countries. This is the latest handshake by the British Government. The man-in-the-street by asking, "Is this what-we are paying extraordinary income-law for?" and "Will the Pope's Franco and Germany get the lion's share?"
Presbyterians who crowded Berry Street Presbyterian Church at the funeral service of the late Rev. Dr. Hanna are righteously indignant at the uncalled for and unfortunate statement made by the Moderator on that occasion. We will not repeat his statement, but it seemed cowardly, when he who was so much loved by all true fundamentalists was in a position of not being able to reply to him as he assuredly would have done.
We have ocen hearing a lot recently about the building of new houses in Belfast. No doubt they are necessary, as many were destroyed in the gir raids. But who are to occupy these houses when completed? Will they be given to the people who have lost their homes, or the people who occupied by the Roman Catholics coming in from over the Border in large numbers, and are being employed by Protestants? We know that if these houses are occupied by Romanists they will soon be turned into slums in the usual Roman Catholic manner. It is well-known Popery and "Poperie Popery reigns there poverty remains."
In a recent broadcast our Prime Minister, surveyed our Ireland here in Ulster. Standing in the north, he looked east and he looked west, but had evidently only a Look of Contempt for the South.
A reader spellman us of his surprise at the remark of Mr. Lowry, K.C., regarding the fumigating of Portrush Orange Room Catholic church not wearing a counter to the Income Tax Pagan he would have seen popish-pagan crosses, Sacred Hearts, and Legion of Mary emblems dangling before the eyes of Orangemen and Christian Protestants.
Mr. Campbell, M.P., is very indignant at the remark of Mr. Lowry, K.C., regarding the fumigating of Portrush Orange Room Catholic church not wearing a counter to the popish masses. Mr. Lowry has withdrawn his statement, as the Pope's Envoy, Spellman, is writing him, according to Press reports, as to this insult to his Italian religion. Has it been forgotten that in 1930 Cardinal Joe MacRory, head of the Italian Mission in Ireland, startled the Protestant world when he stated:—"I say that the Protestant Church in Ireland, and the same is true of the Protestant Church anywhere else, is not even a part of the Church of Christ." This Bachelor had the audacity to thus insult the Protestants of the world. According to MacRory's teaching no Protestants are truly married if not before a popish priest, and all children born of legally married parents, if not by a priest, are illegitimate or bastards. "Joe," his priests teach their people this hellish teaching, so that all papists must look on every Protestant as illegitimate and the offspring of sin and immorality. Mr. Campbell of any other Protestant has never dared to deny such teaching or insults to every Protestant in the world who does not bow to "Papa" in Rome.
