My dear Gr. Provincial,
On Nov. 14th I sent you $500
valued L. 114, 18.1, and have much pleasure in enclosing
to you now a further $500 valued L. 113, 17.10.
You will be glad to learn that we had a food success
at the Cathedral. It was the best mission ever kill there,
so Monsignor Ramon Adm. informed the Archbishop. We had
a wonderful day three last Sunday. The Sisters Blooding from
Rome Sang at Partificial Welfare Mass. The Archbishop had all the
division dignities added him, and such was the thing of
people of all denominations that a posse of police had corresponded
to affect outside the Cathedral and keep out themselves clamousing
for admission which was by ticket. All the millionaires
and beets of Corporations were present. The Archbishop intended
me to preach the special Seminar. I felt in a bad way
of recovering beforehand, as Monsignor Cantwell warned me
it was the biggest event that ever happened in the Cathedral.
I assure you I ardently begged Drs. H. Father St. Francis to
help me so that I might do credit to the Labit. Although life
was not worth birding up to the time the Mass began, I was
so cool as a cucumber when I went out accompanied by
Monsignor Cantwell in his robes. Several people remarked the
striking contrast between the magistries robes of the sin
Monsignors around the Thorne and the borown Labit. The Labit
they said sent dignity to the seem by its striking contrast.
The Archbishop and all the dignities expressed their pleasure
at my seminar and the Archbishop came to thank me tripledoing
morning. Moras. Cantwell asked me for my Drs. as he
said the Archbishop wanted it published. If it appears
in the Division paper I shall send you a copy. I
know you will be happy to learn that you is blessed
on work. I had to finish the mission on Sunday as a
Dr. Barclamson had left the begin mission in St. Francis
Church where we are this week. It is a genu. It is a
Parochial Church run by 3 Seculars, but I have never
seen any Franciscan Church so truly Franciscan. Magnificent
paintings of scenes from the life of St. Francis describe the
Sanctuary. I wish we had some of them in the Churches
at home. We both feel we want a vest and
intend getting down to Watts for as long as we can
at X mos. It gets very measure despite troublesque
hospitality we receive to have does legs always under
the table of Strangers. I think I told you in my last book
Bishop Cantwell has asked me to preach in the Cathedral for
X mos. H. Loseph is very pleased at invitation I want me to
preach for him also.
I think I have given you all the news of
any interest. We have not fort one Schedule of work
for next year from Mr. Cantwell, but he says that he
has engagements that will keep us busy until divine.
