Very Reverend and dear Father Provincial:
I had intended answering your last letter sooner, but the Christmas rush held me up, and then I decided to wait until I had the Report of the S.M.A. ready.
Your letter took about six weeks to reach me. As soon as I received it I forwarded your letter to Father Nicholas, and, as soon as I could, I got check for $160.88 and had it sent "American Express" to Father Paul. As the money is sent direct and by air-mail through the bank, I enclosed your letters for Father Paul in a separate envelope with a little note to tell him that the check was forwarded, and I then sent the whole contents Trans-Atlantic air-mail.
No, we have not received any copies of the Analecta in America either, since last April. But I wrote to Father Nicholas and asked him to get some copies of the Analectae that were issued since April, to cut out all important matters and to send the cuttings on to me, so that I could forward them to you.
I am enclosing a general report of the Seraphic Mass Association, for the whole year. As you will see, we have a balance of $289.20 on hand from last quarter. So I will hold it here until I hear from you. I sent on a copy of the Report for the last quarter of 1940, last week.
The brethren are all well here. Fr. Isidore expects to get back to work soon.
