                "value": "\" FEARING the Consequences that might result from allowing the REBELS who fled from Wexford to remain any Length of Time in this County, I preferred attacking them with the Troops I already had, to waiting till a Reinforcement arrived. My Force amounted to eleven hundred Men. The REBELS consisted of about five Thousand. I attacked them this Morning, at fix o'Clock, in their Position on Kilconnel Hill, near Gore's-Bridge, and soon defeated them. Their Chief, called Murphy, a Priest, and upwards of one Thousand Men were killed. Ten Pieces of Cannon; two Swivels, their Colours, and Quantities of Ammunition, Arms, Cattle, &c. were taken; and I have the Pleasure to add, that some Soldiers who were made Prisoners the Day before, and doomed to fuffer Death; were fortunately released by our Troops.",
