"value": "The public meeting to be held in the Sanctuary Extension of Holy Trinity Church at 4 o'clock this afternoon should concentrate upon a work of unique interest the close attention and cordial sympathy of every citizen who honours religion and cherishes the memory of one who was truly exemplary in his varied relations of priest, friar, and philanthropist. But if we know the people of Cork, and correctly estimate the feelings of gratitude and affection towards the Capuchin Community which now, perhaps more than ever, pervades the people of this country in their regard, there can be no uncertainty about the response which will be made on this occasion to their appeal for the means of finishing worthily this important and deeply interesting work—a work for which the people themselves gave the mand",
