Bend will be the terminus of this road for a considerable period. The Harrisman Deschutes Road already is building into the Bend country. The east-and-west line of the Hill road branches off from the Columbia-Klamath line at Bend. Bend, then, is situated at what will be the most important junction point in Oregon.",

Ex Society & there is also to its credit $138 from the sale of old church that stood in the district. If we can get a lot of ground donated we will build a small church there in the near future. Stondfield is in need of a church and in the deed which consigns to us 12 block of ground it is stipulated that we build a $1500 church within the next twelve months. The C. Ex. Society has given $500 for a church there and it seems about all the money that we can collect.",
